Emeral City Gamefest

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

I wanted to take the time to thank the organizers of the Emerald City Gamefest for their great event this year. Third Place Books, where it was held, turned out to be a great venue. The people were cordial and fun to be around. Most importantly, the gaming was great!

I spent the lion’s share of my time assuming the identity of Veelus (Male kobold Cleric 4), in ‘s “One Night in Zobeck” game. Wolfgang’s scenario was challenging in parts, yet filled with opportunities for light-hearted fun at every turn. I’m not sure if that’s how it was designed, but that’s how it turned out. Of course, our party of diminutive reptiles succeeded in evading some pretty hairy encounters! You’ll all be shocked to learn that, while there were ghouls in the adventure, we never had to confront them. Phew!

My sister, Erin, was gracious enough to spend some time handing out fliers for Kobold Quarterly, and I was pleased to see the dice we’ll be offering as a promotion for new subscribers in the near future. They’re gorgeous!

I got a chance to finally meet , who was running “A Song of Ice and Fire.” We didn’t have long to chat, but he seemed like a nice guy. I also got a chance to chat with , which I’ve been meaning to do for months. Another great guy whom I wish lived closer to me, so I could see more often.

“Brengan,” “Eleo” (Ann), and “Lothas” (Rob)… it was great gaming with you. I hope you’ll keep in touch!
