Why I love the Punisher

There are bad and evil people in the world. People that should never have been born, and the quicker they are locked away or put in the ground, the better. Rapists, pedophiles, et al – these people have no redeeming qualities and I challenge anyone to tell me where I’m wrong.

But, I’m a law-abiding citizen. I don’t think people should be out there acting as vigilantes. We have police for that. Unfortunately, that doesn’t slake the primal need I have, at times, to see these sub-human pieces of refuse pay, and pay dearly.

That’s why I like the Punisher, and similar characters from fiction, fantasy, etc. Ever time he puts the screws to a “bad guy,” it allows me to vicariously live a moment where the bad guy really does suffer. Maybe I’m wrong to want evil people to suffer, but I admit to enjoying it when they do.

So call me a sinner for enjoying it when evil people suffer. But don’t, for a moment, deny that there are people out there that deserve to…
