1985. Val Halen was making me Jump and The Boss was regaling me with Glory Days. It was a good summer. It was the summer I discovered DragonLance.
I was at Camp Hunt, in Hubbardsville, NY. I had a month of fun, hanging out with my best buds. Mike Jackson (not the singer) slipped me a copy of a book called Dragons of the Autumn Twilight. It was like crack for my young skull full of mush. Two days of furious reading and I was hooked.
2007. My wife asks me to bring the kids down to the library. No problemo; I love the library.
I treck on down to the DuPont branch of the Pierce County Library System, walk in the door, and what to I see? The library is unloading three near-mint copies of the first printing of the DragonLance Chronicles series. Price? $0.50
Score!
